New domain

Like many nerds, I get a bit antsy and a bit flighty if I sit still for too long. “Surely,” I think, “there’s a better way! If only I radically change everything I do!” Indecisiveness is trash, and I’m a raccoon. That is to say, I love hopping. Distro-hopping? Oh, yea. Framework-hopping? For sure. E-mail-hopping? Obviously. Domain-hopping? Absolutely!

I’m not nearly as much of a hopper as I used to: I’ve stuck to OpenBSD & LibertyBSDfor like three years, haven’t switched away from FVWM2 as my WM for that time, and stuck with Vim for a year or two. jadedctrl@teknik.io’s also been my e-mail for a pretty long time now.^†

But the urge to domain-hop remains as strong as ever. I’ve done some real ugly, cringey stuff with domain names. jadedmeta.info, kafejo.us, jadedmeta.xyz, eunichx.us… I’m terrible at picking names. So can you blame me for being jumpy?

But I think I’ve finally found the perfect one this time. It’s short, sweet, and only a slight-bit cringy. xwx.moe! xwx is a nice emoticon. moe is a cute and weeby TLD. The math’s clear here: xwx.moe is a great idea. It’s at least way better than eunichx.us!

eunichx.us is a bit of a mouthful, and is near-impossible to dictate. The TLD’s also a bit weird, since the site isn’t really tied to the US very much at all. … not to mention that it’s literally a mispelling of eunuch. I thought it was a good gag at the time, but… ehh, I’m not so sure anymore.^‡ eunichx.us won’t expire until 2020-12-18, and until then it’ll redirect to xwx.moe.

Anyway, this is my heads-up for anyone that visits eunichx.us for Git repos or whatever the heck. Update your clone-URLs to git.xwx.moe!​^§
